Hutto is located in Southeastern Williamson County and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Hutto is located about 7 miles East of Round Rock and 22 miles Northeast of Austin. Even though Hutto is the fastest growing City in Williamson County, it still retains the familiarity and comfort of small-town life, while offering easy access to the amenities of Austin and San Antonio. When driving through the town of Hutto, one will see many Hippos throughout the town honoring the mascot of Hutto High School.  As of the 2000 census, the ethnic makeup of Hutto is 76.48% White, 5.36% African American, 0.72% Native American, and 26.72% of the population is of Hispanic /Latino. The age dispersion of the city of Hutto is 35.0% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 37.0% from 25 to 44, 13.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.0% who are 65+, with a median age of 29. The median income for a household in the city was $53,295.

Entertainment

Hutto is full of small town charm, and in 2011 celebrated its 100 year of incorporation. The city of Hutto holds an annual fall festival called Hutto Olde Tyme Days held every October in downtown Hutto, just minutes from Creek Bend subdivision. Just a few miles down 685/130 Toll, lies the newly developed Stone Hill Town Center. Stone Hill offers residents of Creek Bend over a million square feet of shopping and entertainment. Some highlights of the shopping center include a Super Target, Home Depot, Beals, Chick-Fil-A, Dick’s Sporting Goods, a Cinemark movie theatre, and much more. Creek Bend is also close to the Dell Diamond, home to the Round Rock Express (AAA minor league baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers.) Not too far up the 45 Toll Road is the Cedar Park Center an indoor arena which is home to the Texas Star’s of the American Hockey League and Austin Toros of the NBA Development Team. The Cedar Park Center also hosts numerous concerts and other events. The nightlife of Austin is just a short drive away for residents of Creek Bend. Austin is the self proclaimed Live Music Capital of the World and has live music shows throughout the city. Austin also has lots of music venues as well scattered throughout the city.
